Please note that the only personal information included in your account information held by GDAS is the e-mail address you used when registering for your GDAS account, and any other personal information such as your name, address, affiliation, and contact information (except for your e-mail address) is not included.
We sincerely apologize to all users and parties involved for any concern and inconvenience this incident causes. Satellite orbit control maneuvers will be conducted during the following periods.
2023/04/06 - 2023/05/12: Inclination control maneuver
2023/04/20: solar eclipse operation (by the moon)
TANSO-FTS was initially scheduled for temporary standby operations and standard grid observations (when not on standby) during the periods; however, based on the satellite soundness check result after the first orbit control maneuver, it was judged necessary to switch to safer and more reliable operations including the solar eclipse operations scheduled thereafter, in consideration of the power generated and the temperature environment, compared to the inclination control maneuvers performed in 2018. Accordingly, TANSO-FTS was systematically put into sleep mode and completely stopped observations including standard grid observations at around 19:00 on April 6, 2023 (UTC).
Since then, all observations of TANSO-FTS have been suspended and will resume after the scheduled inclination control maneuvers are completed. It will be notified when TANSO-FTS resumes observations.
Note that TANSO-CAI continues to make observations as scheduled.

GOSAT TANSO-FTS and CAI will be operated as follows.

As with the TIR L2 products (V01.20), the observation period from April 23, 2009 to May 24, 2014 is covered.

The FTS observation has been restarted from 18 June 2020. From June 13 to 17, the FTS observation was suspended due to the FTS interferometer reset operation. The spectral phase correction in the current FTS L1B processing does not support the Zero Path Difference (ZPD) shift over 2000. The affected data will be distributed after reprocessing with updating the parameter only for the latest V220.220.

Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) launched on January 23, 2009 shifted its operation mode to the low load mode (LLM) at around 4:20 am, November 25, 2018 (JST) and has suspended its observation. Currently, JAXA is investigating the cause of this event while taking necessary measures. As soon as more information becomes available, JAXA will release it on the website.

"L4A global CH4 flux" and "L4B global CH4 distribution" products have been released to RA users as version 01.04. They are based on version 02.21- 02.60 FTS SWIR L2 XCH4 data and the WDCGG ground-based observational data etc, and cover 76 months between June 2009 and September 2015.
For the detail, please see "Important Notes at Releasing V01.04 for RA" in "L4A global CH4 flux / L4B global CH4 distribution" table on "Documents & Information" page after logging into GDAS. ATBD will be also released to RA users soon. After that, we will inform you of it again.
We would like to inform you that the GOSAT maneuver operation has performed on July 27, 2018.
Accordingly, GOSAT TANSO-FTS and CAI observation has been suspended during the following periods:

FTS PPDF-S (SWIR) CO2/CH4 column amounts data started to be released to RA users today. The PPDF-S data store the dry-volume mixing ratios of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) retrieved by the PPDF-S method from the short-wavelength infrared spectrum (SWIR). These data are provided in HDF5 format.
For the details, please refer to "Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document (ATBD)" for physical theories and the mathematical background, and "Data Format Description". The versions to be provided are V02.21(2009/6/3-2014/5/24), V02.31(2014/6/16-2014/12/14) and V02.40 (2015/2/1-2015/8/2).
The system fault on GDAS has been recovered.

V210.210 FTS L1B product observed after 00:26 March 28, 2018 (UT) has started to be released to users today. All observational data before 00:25 March 28, 2018 (UT) is being reprocessed and will be released successively. For the details of the upgrade to V210.210 FTS L1B product, please refer to the release note.
FTS L1B product was upgraded from V201.202 to V210.210 on March 28, 2018. The distribution will be started from April 4, 2018. All observational data before March 27, 2018 is being reprocessed and will be released successively. V201.202 FTS L1B product continues to be distributed until FTS SWIR L2 upgrade is completed (expected in late FY2018).
Some important corrections have been made to the V210.210 product including modification of Band4 TIR non-linearly correction; extension of sun-glint latitudinal range and glint flag updates; update of SWIR radiance conversion table; change of Band1 high gain saturation criteria. For the details, please refer to the release note.
V205.205 product, which has been released to RA users for evaluation, also continues to be distributed until finishing the V210.210 reprocessing (expected in the end of June 2018).

"L4A global CO2 flux" and "L4B global CO2 distribution" products have been released to General users as version 02.05. They are based on version 02.21- 02.60 of FTS SWIR L2 XCO2 data and the GLOBALVIEW surface-based CO2 data and cover 53 months between June 2009 and October 2015.

Further, we have stopped distributing the old version 02.03 L4 CO2 products.
We are pleased to inform you that the "ATBD (Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document)" for the FTS SWIR L2 for Ver. 02.21 - 02.60 is available from 16 Jun. 2017.
You can get it from "Documents (Product Descriptions)" >"FTS L2 column amount (SWIR)" menu on "Documents & Information" page.
We lost the TANSO-FTS transition command to the night observation mode, the day observation mode continued at night side for about 45 minutes.

During the above mentioned period, different from a normal operation, observation at night side was made in OB1D (OBservation mode 1 Day side) mode instead of OB1N (OBservation mode 1 Night side) mode. Please note that this did NOT affect the data quality.
